Tidewell Coffee
A two-person roastery on the edge of Galway Bay, roasting small batches for cafés and home brewers. We imagined the brand, the bags and the online shop that would turn one-off buyers into monthly subscribers.
Great coffee, sold one bag at a time.
Most of a small roaster's income comes from a few wholesale accounts, and online sales spike at Christmas then disappear. The brief: a brand that stands out on a crowded café shelf, a shop that makes subscribing the obvious choice, and emails that bring people back before their bag runs out.
The tide comes in every day. So should the coffee.
The mark is a roaster’s stamp with three hand-drawn waves at its centre, which nods to the bay and to the idea of a regular delivery. Deep sea green and oat cream keep it calm; a copper accent marks each roast. Each bag carries a tide-table style label with origin, roast date and brew notes. The Shopify shop leads with subscriptions, and a short email journey times the reminder to when the bag runs out.
The system
A condensed industrial sans, the kind stencilled on sacks and harbour sheds, set round a roaster’s stamp that works as a rubber stamp on kraft bags.
